Walmart has announced its plans to acquire the technology and assets of Polymorph Labs, a Silicon Valley-based advertising startup. Polymorph’s technology, which includes a high-speed ad server, a self-serve interface and server-side header bidding, will make advertising with Walmart easier for thousands of brands while delivering more relevant digital ads to consumers, the company said in its press release.
DHL is launching an e-commerce app called DHL Africa eShop for global retailers to sell goods to Africa’s consumer markets reported Techcrunch. The platform goes live today and brings more than 200 U.S. and U.K. retailers. DHL Africa eShop will operate using startup MallforAfrica.com’s white label service, Link Commerce, which will facilitate local payments, procurement and delivery.
For the past year, mass merchant Target Corp. has quietly been testing a checkout option that allows Target.com shoppers to choose to consolidate their online orders that include multiple products into fewer packages. Target says the orders will be consolidated “where possible” so it could still arrive in fewer packages even if it’s still not all in one box.
The membership-only brand launched 165 Thrive-branded products last year and has 520 private label products today. While this is only 8.7% of the roughly 6,000 total products for sale on ThriveMarket.com, private-label goods account for 25% of its revenue and the company wants to lean in more this year. Thrive launched its first private-label products in 2016 and its mantra has been to sell healthy and sustainable products.
Kohl’s will reportedly be the exclusive retailer of the Elizabeth and James brand, which is set to launch in the majority of Kohl’s stores and online at the beginning of this year’s holiday season. “With sophisticated, modern apparel and accessories, Elizabeth and James at Kohl’s will heighten what it means to make fashion accessible,” said Doug Howe, Kohl’s chief merchandising officer.
